Panther
Feel like I’m losing ground
They think cause I am full of faith
That I must be perfect everyday
But they don’t understand
I’m just a man, held in your hands
But what say you
God please tear me down
And let me break my crown
Cause then when I bleed out your blood can fill me up again
Well I want to become nothing
I want to become nothing
So you can be everything
“Hypocrite”- We As Human
LAETEL TH’IENE
basics;;
+Nicknames: Panther
+Gender: Male
+Race: Gryffite
+Date of Birth: April 16
+Real Age: 25
+Age in Human Years: 25
+Sexuality: Heterosexual
+On the run or looking for fun: Laetel is neither on the run, nor looking for fun. He is a corrupt officer of the law.
+Reputation: Laetel is known around the solar system as an apathetic, hypocrite son of a bitch cop with a heavy addiction to over 23 drugs. However, he is prized by his station for always getting the job done and pulling in the hardest criminals………except. Just. One.
+Circus Act: Performs with Adrien sometimes, but for the most part he stays out of the show
+Secondary Act: Adrien’s bodyguard
abilities;;
+Powers: Laetel, like most Gryffites, is rather strong for his build. His retractable wings give him the ability of flight, even for his size. The duo-colored feathers, both white and black to represent his tiger/panther heritage in the Gryffite world, are extremely sturdy until they are pulled out. This, combined with his eight foot wing span makes it possible to fly certain distances and height.
+Weapons and Equipment: Laetel typically has at least six needles/vials of drugs on him somewhere. One of his favorites is Adralnalzine, a synthetic substitute for adrenaline. He also carries a gloc-9 handgun, and a rather large knife. In addition, his badge is on him at all times…not that it has much bearing anymore. He also has the fangs (hidden in the gums) as well as the retractable, three-inch claws (hidden in the skin between his fingers, by his third set of knuckles) that is typical of all Gryffites.
+Skills: as a toned cop, Laetel has the stamina to chase down almost anyone and fight them if need be in order to arrest them. He is a powerful combatant, and is not afraid to use his heavy wings if need be as weapons

+Hair Color: Black/Dark Brown
+Hair Style: Scruffy, unkempt

history;;
+Mother: Eeta Th’iene
+Father: Loretal Th’iene
+Siblings: none
+Other relations: Mattehl, a young abandoned Gryffite he took care of in his younger cop days. His protégé.
+Companions: Ringmaster Adrien. Former companions were Mattehl and Chari, his police partner.
+Overall history:
Laetel’s parents, though he refuses to tell anyone this, were shot by criminals on Planet Sen near their home. At the young age of 14, Laetel inherited his father’s successful business. Because of the intelligence that ran in the family, Laetel was able to turn the business into a multi-million dollar company in three years. But he grew bored with the company. Seeking out some other thrills, the dark, angry teenager applied for the Gryffite’s source of justice, known as the Force. Much like the police, the Force monitors criminal activity both on and off Sen. It caters to a few private, off-planet clients, but for the most part, its efforts are spent reigning in organized crime, drug rings, and murder cases. Laetel was thrust into all three at once. Secretely, he became enamored with the dark world. By age 18, Laetel was addicted to most of the street drugs he was supposed to be busting. His Chief noticed the signs, but the young man was proving to be an asset, so they kept him around, on the condition that he would have a partner to monitor his activity.
Laetel’s partner was Chari, a Cheetah-species of Gryffite. She disapproved of Laetel’s increasingly dismal ways and attempted to pull him out of the gutter. The two became semi-close, and Laetel was starting to seem more like the clean-cut cop everyone thought he was. He even started taking better care of his protégé, Mattehl.
That is, until Chari was killed in a mob-operation gone wrong. Laetel, high at the time, decided it would be more pressing to shoot the fuck out of everything in the place when he got there instead of getting the dying girl medical attention. One of the richochets killed her. Laetel lied about what happened to his Chief, but the incident still bothers him. He slipped further into drugs, taking on an apathetic personality, yet still somehow managing to maintain his business from a distance.
Some time ago, Laetel was sent out to Nor on a private investigation at the request of one of the Force’s interplanetary clients. A few of the nobles had…concerns about several of the murders that were taking place so near their Courts.
Laetel found the killer, and was nearly tortured to death for it.
But he never left…he remains at Circo de Anima as a formidable bodyguard of Ringmaster Adrien…and perhaps more.

He pulled the tourniquet tighter with his teeth, hands nearly shaking with withdrawal. Just one more hit. Had to have another, or he’d pass out. It had nearly been six days without a hit of the electric blue Adralnalzine, and his body, sculpted as it was, was paying for it. His shoulders shuddered, and he fumbled for the needle in his coat pocket. With a relieved sigh, he suck the needle into the meat of his bicep, eyes dilating with relief as the high took hold. He felt strong once again.
“What are you doing?” A low, alto voice called from the doorway, not without malice. His head jerked up, the glass needle clattering to the floor from his fingerless gloves.
“I thought we had an agreement on this.” Her boots tapped a mirthless rhythm on the floor of his trailer as she walked closer. Laetel felt fear seize up in his veins, but the Gryffite shoved it down. Fear was never the best way to deal with her. Gathering his muscle-corded legs underneath him, he stood, shrugging his leather trench coat off. His blue eyes hardened as he glared at her.
“We had no agreement.”
“I thought we did, judging by the way you were screaming that you’d do anything.”
“I never said that I would quit.”
She was standing less than two feet from him now, green eyes flaming with the fury of hell. He wondered briefly how many other pairs of eyes had the horror of those blazing green eyes boring into them, a last sight before they became part of a bloodied corps.
“Damnit Laetel.” She hissed at him, baring her fangs. “Those are so horrible for you. You’re stronger than drugs.”
She raised her clenched fist at him, and he caught the glint of a knife in the dim light.
“Well, if we’re going by said agreement, you promised never to torture me again.”
“Never trust a promise, Panther…” She crooned at him. Her body, catlike and tense in the shadows, was nearly read to sprung.
Feeling his raven wings erupt from his shoulders, he rushed forward, emitting a startling growl that creshendoed into a roar. “Put that away!” He bellowed, grabbing her by the shoulders. Their eyes clashed for a moment, and for just one second, he believed she would stab him again.
Roughly, he forced his mouth over hers, the only defense he knew would work. She gave a slightly annoyed grunt, but her posture relaxed slightly. Careless of the fangs he knew that lay within her mouth, Laetel kissed her more deeply, almost hazing her senses to the point where he knew she would not fight him anymore. A low rumble escaped his throat, and he finally let go of the reeling redhead. She’d never tire of this, he knew.
“Alright,” She muttered, her gaze half glaring at him, half roving over his body rather pointedly. “I’ll let it go this time, little Panther. But we have a show in thirty minutes. You had better be coherent.”
He watched her leave, chuckling under his breath”
“Ahh, Adrien…”
